1. Create your account

   Sign up. Sealbox generates a recovery phrase. You write it down and type it back. We can’t show it again.

2. Connect Dropbox

   OAuth to your own Dropbox. Pick the folders that are actually work.

3. We copy, then lock

   A worker fetches those files, wraps them with your public key, and stores ciphertext. At rest, Sealbox has nothing that decrypts it.

4. Unlock when it matters

   Sign-in is not vault unlock. Enter the recovery phrase in the browser, open a restore point, get the file.

FAQ

Is this sync?

No. Drive and Dropbox keep you working by syncing every change — including deletes. Sealbox is an offsite copy of the work folders you choose, sitting somewhere that isn’t Google or Dropbox. It is not a Drive or Dropbox replacement.

Can Sealbox read my files?

Not at rest. We store ciphertext wrapped with your public key, and we cannot decrypt it, reset your recovery phrase, or open files for you. During ingest, a worker may see plaintext while it fetches from the source. Sign-in is not vault unlock: the recovery phrase unlocks the vault in the browser and is never sent to Sealbox. A stolen live OAuth token still risks the source.

What if I lose the recovery phrase?

If you lose the phrase, the offsite copy is gone with it. That’s the trade for a copy we can’t read. We cannot reset it. Your account password is not vault recovery.

Why not just zip Drive every week?

A weekly zip is still your job to make, store, and remember — and restore from a zip is a dump. Sealbox copies chosen work folders on a schedule, stores ciphertext, and you restore by browsing a restore point and downloading files.

Google Drive?

Dropbox first. Google Drive is next. You can sign up today and connect your own Dropbox. Drive connect is not available yet.

Team plan?

No. Sealbox is one person, one recovery phrase, folders you own. Shared drives and team Dropbox are out of scope. We are not a team IT restore product.

How far back can I restore?

The destination is a rolling 30 days of weekly restore points: pick a week, browse folders, download files. Early copies may keep fewer restore points than that.

Do you sell by the gigabyte?

No. You pick work folders; a live GB ceiling sits on that selection. Ingest stops when you’d blow past it. We are not selling a $/GB life meter.
